The sports cards industry is near it's all-time low. As many of you know, the boom during the 1980s and 1990s led to mass overprinting of sports cards. There were so many cards printed, and now most of the cards from that era are worthless. As a result, card shops are hard to find and everyone has a big trunk full of these cards taking up storage space.
Sports cards used to be a great investment, and many made a living off of selling them, but now, that trunk might not fetch enough to cover the shipping costs. I've tried to make money selling sports cards, and I can tell you from experience that it just doesn't work. All of those cards though, I've come to realize, aren't totally worthless.
Those cards carry memories of our childhood. Those forgotten sports cards will be great to show to our kids. They might help convince our kids to collect their own cards. For anyone out there worried about the value of the cards, my advice is to just enjoy them. Unless you can find grandpa's old collection hidden away in the attic (I've looked), you aren't going to be happy with the results if you try to sell your cards. Keep them. Enjoy them.
This site is a spot to show off a collection. In the future, I plan for you to be able to host your collections in the same way. But for now, enjoy rummaging through these cards that I am displaying. Check back in, there will be a lot of different ways to view them soon.
