Fantasy Experts: Sunday Summary
Week 1
Each week, we'll break down some important fantasy football information from Sunday, and give it to you in one summary.
The NFL never fails to surprise, and week one of the 2011 season was just another example. In a big rule change that every play-by-play man mentioned six thousand times, the NFL chose to move kickoffs up to the 35 yard line. With this move, it was thought that there would be a significantly less amount of kickoff returns, resulting in fewer injuries. Wouldn't you know, that an NFL record was set for most kick return touchdowns in one week? Pro football will never fail to surprise you.
The world is buzzing as it should be about Cam Newton who threw for the most yards ever in a debut, and even threw for more yards in a game than Tom Brady ever has. Newton will be the most added player this week by a longshot.... Despite all of the off-field drama, Kenny Britt put up one of the best performances out of all wide receivers and is now a must-start until further notice.... San Diego's looked-over running back Mike Tolbert put up 3 touchdowns while sitting on a lot of fantasy team benches. Ryan Mathews looked decent as well, but Tolbert is a real factor in this offense, and I'd have trouble benching him in the future.... Arizona's fantasy castoff Beanie Wells showed a spark as the Cardinals feature back, and will be a great flex play the rest of the way.... Top scoring wide receiver, and former fantasy stud, Steve Smith benefited the most from Cam's performance, and benching this Panther won't be a good idea until we figure out just how good Newton is going to be.... Pittsburgh's Mike Wallace continued to shine without scoring a touchdown while being blown out by the Ravens. Expect even better games ahead when the Steelers get their groove on.... Scott Chandler, Buffalo's giant tight end, had a monster day against a Chiefs team that flat out didn't show up, but don't expect a repeat performance. The real tight end to grab is Washington's Fred Davis who should be a main threat in the Redskin offense for the entire 2011 season.
Good luck to everyone in week 2.

Fantasy Football Free Agents
Week 1: Top 5 Free Agents
With one week under our belts, it's time to begin the separation from the fantasy football draft. You'll want to keep all the players from your first few rounds for now, but it's time to start re-evaluating the bottom of your roster.
So many fantasy players get attached to the players they drafted and neglect the waiver wire. If you're one of these, just know that there are just as many or more teams built from the waiver wire that win fantasy football championships. Did you already forget about Michael Vick last year?
1. Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB - Buffalo - Last year, this Harvard graduate finished in the top 10 in fantasy points scored for QBs. He's off to a hot start and won't be available long.
2. Cam Newton - QB - Carolina - Looking for this year's Michael Vick? If there is one it will be Cam. Just don't go all in, have Cam on your bench ready if his breakout season continues.
3. Carnell Williams - RB - St. Louis - Steven Jackson is most likely out one more week, so Carnell is a decent RB2 or flex play.
4. Early Doucet - WR - Arizona - He's still not quite out of the sleeper offense, but he'll do well if Kolb continues to be solid for the Cardinals. He may be a solid WR3.
5. Ed Dixon - TE - Baltimore - The Ravens offense is going to surprise some people this year with statistics. This isn't just a defensive team anymore, and Todd Heap's replacement will be targeted often.
